Singer and songwriter John Denver touched millions of people and reached superstar status by his folk-inspired pop hits with a lot of them being set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell New Mexico. However, he was enthralled by Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually made his way to Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado are a source of inspiration for many to move to the state. There isn't any other performer who embodies Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was a member of the Hall of Fame as its initial member in the year 2011. For many, Denver is the symbol of Colorado. Certainly in my travels you encounter someone on the other part of the globe, one of New Zealand and you say "I'm originally from Colorado and the first word that comes that comes out of their mouths is"Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career in folk groups, was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff created the track along with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver saw an early rendition it was clear that the track could become an instant hit. Just a few days after performing to an excited audience on the streets of Washington D.C., the singer recorded this song.
