Aisling Bea

Aisling was born on March 16 1984, on the island of Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's most successful and well-known comedians. Bea was on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, better known as the stage name Aisling Bea (born on 16 March 1984) is an Irish writer, actress and comedian. After appearing in bit parts in a variety of Irish and British television series from 2009 Bea started her career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. The year 2012 saw her begin to appear regularly on sketches and sitcoms. After she received an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) and began to be featured regularly in various panel programs. In 2016 and 2017 she was a team leader on 8 Out of 10 Cats. She is also an actress on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was the child of Brian O'Sullivan, and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is her younger sister. In 2012, she was the only woman in history to win the So You Think you're Funny award. Bea was awarded the award in memory of her father. Aisling Cliodhnadh was born on the 16th of March, 1984 in Kildare Town, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian died at age three. He was a horse veterinarian. Bea wasn't told the specifics of his passing before she reached the age of 13. As a way to honor her dad, she took the stage name Bea and, in the year 2017, wrote an article about suicides that affected the family she was raised by for The Guardian. Bea along with her younger sister Sinead were taken care of by their maternal grandmother Helen (nee Moloney) who was a secondary school teacher and jockey trainer, as well as a an ex-professional jockey. The family was obsessed with horses and racing. Bea started out as a tourist guide at Irish National Stud. But she realized her love was acting, not racing.
